March Newsletter

Happy March Go Farians!

We have had lots of great stuff going on this year, with Go Farians running races as near as San Francisco and Napa and as far as Little Rock, Arkansas! This is shaping up to be a great year. March is no exception, and we have a ton of stuff coming up for you this month into next month. With all the Meetups coming up, please make sure to always update your RSVP to Yes or No so your organizers will know whether or not to expect you. All of our Meetups are held Rain or Shine unless otherwise noted in the Meetup description. If rain is keeping you inside, make sure you update your RSVP so your fellow Go Farians aren’t stuck outside in the rain waiting for you.

We have really been talking a lot about our Couch to 10K program, and the first Meetup is looking like it is going to be a great one. We have 30+ people already RSVPd! Please be sure to keep telling your friends, family, and coworkers about this great event. We have some wonderful active Go Farians who got their start in our Couch to 10K program last year, and we can’t wait to see that grow. Be sure to check out our website to find out more about the program and our coaches. Our webfarian Stanton has put together a couple great sections on our site, so make sure you check it out here: http://gofarrungroup.com/?p=972

This March also kicks off one of the most anticipated Meetups of the year, MISSION PEAK! Our Mission Peak meetups will be held every Thursday at 6PM. See how well you can progress throughout this season and set your benchmark at the first Meetup this Thursday! Every year we always try to get down to Santa Cruz for Nisene Marks, and March is the month we are heading down to drink in the beauty of the Redwoods. It is by far one of the most beautiful runs we do each year, so make sure you join us for this incredible experience. As was mentioned earlier in the newsletter, this will be rain or shine. This week is looking a little iffy weatherwise, but running in the rain just makes you stronger, plus you can brag about how awesome you are to all your friends for braving the weather 😉

Scott has been awesome in hosting some preview runs with Hellyer last weekend and Santa Cruz this next weekend. Any opportunity to run in Santa Cruz is alright with us, and so make sure you RSVP and check out the beautiful course that the Santa Cruz half marathon has to offer with our preview course on March 26. Find out more information at http://www.meetup.com/Go-Far-Run-Group/events/228240773/.

Speaking of the Hellyer preview, the race we have all been prepping for is rapidly approaching! The Hellyer Half Marathon is going to be coming up on March 20. If you are attending, RSVP so we can cheer you on! There will be a group of us out at an aid station to fill you with Go Far spirit!! Finally, we are looking into April on this one! BLAST is making its triumphant return! Marcia is going to kick your butt into shape with some strength training and cross training outside of running. Doing strength training to build muscle strength has a definite positive impact on your running. If you are injury prone, feeling weak outside of leg muscles, have hit a plateau with your running performance, or just want to get stronger, this is the workout for you! RSVP here! http://www.meetup.com/Go-Far-Run-Group/events/229299255/

That is it for March! In other news, our website is now fully up and RUNNING. Stanton, our webfarian, has been hard at work getting content up on the site so I highly encourage you to check it out. In the coming months we will have gear reviews, race reviews, and more for you to read and enjoy. Bookmark gofarrungroup.com and always stay in the loop with everything Go Far!

Thanks for reading, and remember to always GO FAR!
