Well, better late than never? This may be a bit late for a January newsletter, but hey, there’s still a lot of awesome stuff to talk about!!
Welcome to 2017 Go Far! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that everyone is slowly but surely getting back into the groove of every day life. Recently we have had lots of new Go Farians join our group, and have already seen many of them come out to Meetups! To the new folks, we say Welcome!! We can’t wait for you to come out and meet our fellow Go Farians at an upcoming run 🙂
If you haven’t yet, I am asking a big favor of everyone! If you haven’t had a chance, could you please leave a review of our Meetup? The reviews of our Meetup help new runners find us and let them know what our group is all about. You can leave a review here, and I would appreciate so much!! https://www.meetup.com/
The ending of 2016 meant the end of our annual Go Far Shoe Drive, headed up by Stanton! We ended up collecting 332 pairs of shoes and 335 pieces of running clothing from various races throughout the Bay as well as from our own Run Group! I am so proud of everyone for chipping in. I want to send a huge thank you from ALL of us at Go Far to Stanton! Organizing a drive of this size is not easy, and he does it with ease. He helps make sure that Go Far is always rooted in our community and is always giving back. Check out the full write up on our website here: http://gofarrungroup.
2017 is going to be bringing lots of fun for Go Far! We will as always have our Sunday morning long runs and Wednesday night speed workouts, but we will also be starting a new biweekly run at Sawyer Camp and the Bay Trail headed up by Stanton! Those of you in the northern peninsula will now be able to get your Go Far fix!
Always keep a lookout on our calendar for our monthly trail excursions as well! This month will be a little different than what we usually do and we will be teaming up with the SF Trail Runners and doing a run at Quicksilver. Check out the run here: https://www.meetup.com/
Throughout the year we will have lots of activities that are beyond running, and our first one this year will be going to a Sharks game! We will be attending the game on April 6! We have a limit of 40 attendees, so make sure you get your spot today, we are already at half capacity. Check out the event here: https://www.meetup.com/
Thank you all for reading this month’s newsletter, and I hope to see you all at an event soon! Don’t forget, if you have a chance please leave a review for our group. Thanks Go Far!
