Can you believe it Go Farians? It is March, and it isn’t raining! Hurrah!
Welcome to the March newsletter, your home for all information coming up in the next couple months for Go Far! Before we get into the good stuff, there are a couple announcements!
Marcia is going to be selling those awesome Go Far Car decals again this year! Don’t miss out on yours! If you’d like one, they are $5 for one or $8 for two. PayPal Marcia at firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t get FOMO, get yours now!
I’d also like to request that everyone RSVP when they are planning on attending a Meetup! I know it is easy to forget, but it really helps us to attract more runners when others see that a Meetup is well attended. It helps boost our numbers for not only that Meetup but also for member joins in general since people can see how active our group is.
On the flip side of that, please remember to un-RSVP when you cannot make a Meetup or at least let the Meetup event organizer know so that we can get started on time. I don’t think this has been too much of an issue as of late, so thank you so much for being kind to your organizers!!
Whew! That’s out of the way… so many things to chat about, so let’s get started…
First off, a plug for our new Peninsula chapter of Go Far Run Group! Now that Stanton has moved north, we are kicking off a new group up there. Check out the Meetup group and join it here: https://www.meetup.com/Go-Far-
Right now we have runs on Tuesday evenings, but that might change in the future as well as having additions to runs on the weekends. Please keep checking in on the Meetup page to see if there is anything new in the works! We will also do our best to keep everyone up to date on our Facebook page. You can check out our next Peninsula run group Meetup here: https://www.meetup.com/
With spring finally here, that means Daylight Savings Time is coming up! Don’t forget to spring ahead this weekend and move your clocks forward by an hour. Yes, that means that we get to lose an hour of sleep, but the good side of that is we get to have some fun Meetups starting at night again!
Our first new Meetup starting is going to be our Beginner Run Group, starting up next Tuesday night at 6:30 in the Pruneyard. The group will be coached by 3 awesome leaders, Mike, Lori, and Marie. They are going to be there to help guide new runners into the joy of exercise!
We are encouraging ALL ability levels to come out and join. Whether you have never run a day in your life, if you are just walking, or if you are trying to get back into the swing of things, come out and join us! If you are an experienced runner and want to hook your family and friends into this crazy thing you do for hours at a time, have them come check us out and join us any Tuesday until Daylight Savings Time ends! Check out all the details here: https://www.meetup.com/
One of the group’s favorite Meetups is also coming back with Coach Marcia leading the way in our Monday BLAST workouts! Come on out and get some of those other muscle groups working that running can’t get to! I can attest, these are some TOUGH workouts and will make you feel sore in a very good way the next day! We won’t be starting these til April, but please check it out now and RSVP if you want to join! https://www.meetup.com/
We are also going to start getting back to Mission Peak! Mission Peak can be challenging, but it is so much more fun when you have a group of people to tackle this monster with! Mission Peak Meetups will begin in April as well on Thursday nights. Check out all the information here: https://www.meetup.com/
A large group of us are going to be running the Skyline to Sea 50K in October… I don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun! The 50K is currently sold out, but the marathon is open if you want to join in on the Go Far revelry. There is a BBQ afterwards that we can all hang out at and I think it will be a really good time! Let me know if you sign up for the marathon so I can keep you in the loop on Go Far activities.
That’s it for this month! I hope that everyone enjoys the awesome weather we are having right now and that you come on out and join us! Even if you have never been to a Go Far Meetup, please come check us out! Everyone is always welcome, and we look forward to meeting you soon 🙂 Have a great weekend, and GO FAR!
