The Go Far Run Group gives back to the (running) community throughout the year. What better way to give back through the sport that gives our members so much?
Go Farians help out at various races and charity events around the Bay Area throughout the year. Check out our Meetup for the next place where we’ll be volunteering!
In the past, we have put together aid stations to support our fellow runners and cheering squads to motivate participants during races. In the winter, we’ve helped pack gifts for The Family Giving Tree. Help us give back to the community through the sport we love!
Got extra running shoes, apparel, or gear? Keep them handy for Go Far’s annual shoe drive!
Started in 2014 after realizing that a single run group could potentially have dozens of shoes for donation, we began our initial drive in the Spring as an experiment. During our first drive, were able to provide 204 pairs of shoes and 234 articles of running apparel to One World Running. We followed up with a Winter drive and were able to procure 257 pairs of shoes and 219 articles of running apparel to California Runners. All donations went to help those less fortunate and promote health and fitness in the form of running. Any shoes that were unable to be reused were recycled to be turned back into tracks, turf, or playgrounds.
Now an annual tradition, Go Far Run Group rotates between several charities and collects running shoes and clothing from its members, as well as at local running events each Fall/Winter. Join us and give back to those less fortunate!
